I have really just begun my hybridizing program, making my first crosses in Spring of 1999 and getting maiden bloom on two seedlings in Spring of 2001.

My hybridizing efforts are for rebloomers so that I might have flowers after the long hot Tucson summer is over and time in the garden is more enjoyable. I did have flowers for both Thanksgiving and Christmas but of course they weren't MY seedlings either.

I joined The Reblooming Iris Society and follow the checklist for rebloomers in Zones 8 and 9 so that I might choose the most likely parents. The most successful I have grown for rebloom have been from the late Monty Byer's work.

I'm a farmer's daughter. Seed Saving and hybridizing come naturally to me and I find that pollen daubing is just plain FUN.
